2010 Season - Week 18

Defending Champion and Papas Fritas winner Johnnie defeated 16 seed & BUMSBowl II winner John, while second seed Chief is also safely through to the Divisional Rounds. Chief & Daz have won 6 of the 14 BUMSBowls and it was the closest Wildcard game with Chief winning by four. Aaron (5) defeated George (12) by walkover but the other 5 games were all upsets. Cheryl (14) provided the biggest upset beating 3 seed Mark while 4 seed Wayne rolled over to Dave G (13). Ron (11) beat AP (6), David S (10) outscored H (7) and Marcus defeated Craig. In doing so Craig (24 pts) will pick last of the three owners tied at the end of the regular season (9th overall). Marcus (45) and David S (30) move to the next round so will keep on scoring. By the same rule George’s no show means Ron will draft 5th and George 6th. And so the line-up for the Divisional Round is:- Number 1 seed Johnnie taking on Cheryl (14), Chief (2) playing Dave G (13), Aaron (5) faces Ron (11) and Marcus (9) entertains David S (10). Teams to me by 10am Saturday please. First come first served etc. NFL Wildcard Weekend The home team that was supposed to lose (Seattle) won while the three home teams that should have won all lost as NY Jets, Baltimore and Green Bay won on the road. That sets up 4 very tasty Divisional round games which are all re-matches of games from earlier in the season. In the AFC New England host NY Jets and Pittsburgh host Baltimore as the teams split their AFC East and AFC North match-ups. In the NFC Atlanta host Green Bay (Falcons won 20-17 in week 12) and Chicago host Seattle (Seahawks won 23-20 in week 6). Franchise Players 2010-2011 As is the norm you’ll select your Franchise player after the NFL Draft and majority of free agency as I shall be asking for your Franchise players for the next two years early in June. You’ll be giving up the player that you franchised two years ago though some have been cut due to injury or as they failed to live up to their owners expectations. Players cut because they were placed on IR can still be your franchise man. That includes:- Matt Prater and Dez Bryant for Cheryl, Mike Tolbert (Craig), Clinton Portis (Daz), Mike Nugent and Austin Collie for H and Terrell Owens (Wayne) as well as the players on your roster in week 17. BUMS on Seats It’s time for the Divisional games this weekend. Saturday night we are meeting at Mark’s from 9:30pm to see Baltimore (13-4) @ Pittsburgh (12-4). We will be at BUMS HQ on Sunday from 3pm to play catch up and watch the recording of Green Bay (11-6) @ Atlanta (13-3) which is played overnight, followed by ESPN Sunday NFL Countdown, then around 6:30pm Seattle (8-9) @ Chicago (11-5) We’re at Johnnies on Monday from 6:30pm for the late Sunday game NY Jets (12-5) @ New England (12-4).
